Last December, we headed up north to Penang island for a family staycation at Hard Rock Hotel Penang.It is one of the coolest family-friendly hotels in Malaysia. Can you believe that we never leave the hotel throughout our 3D2N stay? There were so much to do, so much to see and so much to eat at Hard Rock Hotel Penang.
Hard Rock Hotel Penang is well-know for its largest free-form pool in Penang, complete with sand islands and 3 water slides. Other facilities include 3 Kids Club, a full-service Rock Spa, gym and more! No wonder kids love this hotel so much, and parents too because they stress less.
Rock Royalty Seaview Deluxe
Our room type is Rock Royalty Seaview Deluxe. It is located at the highest floor, with a little more privacy, beautiful seaview and also special access to the Rock Royalty Lounge. Some of the coolest in-room amenities are free in-room HD blockbuster movies on demand with BOSE sound system, Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary streaming music channels and all-you-can-read digital newsstand with the most popular newspapers and magazines
The welcome sweets and turn down service is a nice touch too.
Little boss enjoyed himself so much. The hotel prepared a baby cot, steriliser and baby bath tub for us too. Such great attention to details.
We love the sleek modern interiors and a cool rock and roll vibe of our room. Love how the hotel is clean and well-maintained throughout.
Rock Royalty Lounge
We would highly recommend the Rock Royalty upgrade, especially during school holiday season if you are looking for some quiet moments and slightly more exclusive experiences.
Soon after we checked in, we headed to the lounge to enjoy our complimentary afternoon tea. It was godsent especially after 5 hours of travelling from KL.
We enjoyed a quiet morning breakfast here too. I love the small but adequate buffet spread, coupled with some ala-carte breakfast dishes that the chef will cook upon order. 
You get to enjoy an evening of canapés and cocktail while watching the sun setting with the lounge access too.
Pool, Sand Island and Water Slides
This has to be Asher’s favourite area. This fearless toddler loves playing at the sand area, swimming (floating) at the pool and going down the slides (in daddy’s arm) multiple times.
Mama, can I go and play already?
One can opt to play at the sand area within the hotel’s compound, or walk out to the public beach that is just steps away from the pool area.
Rock Spa
Rock Spa is perfect for a little relaxation and rejuvenation. Treatments are done in the spa bungalow or in the private villas by the sea. 
Rock Spa offers a diverse selection of services such as massages, body scrubs, body wraps, facials, manicure & pedicure and hair removal with a full host of amenities.
And the best thing is they offer spa treatments available for the young ones too. I hope Asher is old enough to try the kid’s spa. 
We both had the best 1 hour massage here, while listening to the waves. My therapist is really great at addressing the bumps and untie the knots, definitely one of my best pampering moment this year.
Memorabilia
For the diehard music fans, they must not miss to check out hundreds of pieces of unparalleled rock n’ roll memorabilia collection from both local and overseas at Hard Rock Hotel Penang. The Memorabilia Tour is happening at 11.00am
on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.
We learnt so much fun and interesting facts about the world of music and how the memorabilia began. The collection was started when Eric Clapton, a regular customer at the original Hard Rock Cafe London, asked the staff if he could hang his guitar on the wall to mark his favorite bar stool as “his spot.” Other artists followed suit and the collection keeps expanding.
Kids’ Club
There are three kids’ club in Hard Rock Hotel Penang according to age group – Lil’ Rockers Infants Club, Roxity Kids Club and TABU Teens Club. The Lil’ Rockers Infants Club is an indoor play area located in the TABU Teens Club that is exclusively designed for Rockstars ages 3 years old and below. The little ones will be kept busy with educational toys & games, soft toys, mini playhouse and a mini slide. Roxity Kids Club offers various activities such as art and craft, pizza making, movie time, games session and hand painting for kids aged 4-12 year old.
Teenagers will love the TABU Teens Club that offers an exclusive space with pool and foosball table. Teenagers can also chill out by surfing the Internet and playing exciting video games. Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation®3 and Mix DJ session are available on request.
If you are ready for a jam session in the room, you can reserve and rent (for free) one of these Fender guitars, which come with Nixon headphones and a Fender Mustang floor amplifier. How cool is that!
Hard Rock Cafe
It has been a while since we last dined at Hard Rock Cafe (the last Hard Rock meal was at Yokohama, Japan), so we were really excited. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, this cafe features the same delicious American cuisine made famous by Hard Rock Cafes across the globe.
They were doing brisk business even on a weekday night! Don’t miss out the daily band performance from 10.30pm till 2.00am.
We really enjoyed the classic, high-quality American fare, such as the a mouth-watering Legendary™ Burgers and Jumbo Combo. Hard Rock Cafe Penang offers an extensive, award-winning drinks menu that includes Hurricanes, Margaritas, signature favorites and Alternative Rock (alcohol-free) beverages too!
Pizzeria
Pizzeria is our favourite restaurant in the hotel! This beach front hotel is well known for its delicious Italian inspired food!
They offer kids friendly menu as well as games and drawing papers for kids.
Love everything that we ordered. The pizza, pumpkin soup and Galician octopus were outstanding.
Private Set Dinner at Pizzeria
Private set dinner could be arranged at one of those beautiful cabana by the pool too. The dinner will be specially prepared by the executive chef of Pizzeria.
Thank you so much for the exquisite meal, Chef Rodrigo! Every courses were delicious and came in a generous portion. We were so stuffed that we couldn’t move after.
Hard Rock Hotel Penang is definitely the perfect destination for parents with young kids! We can’t wait to revisit.
